In today’s globalized economy, workers are increasingly looking beyond their national border in search of decent work and better livelihoods. In addition, millions of workers migrate internally in search of decent work.

Public and private employment agencies, when appropriately regulated, play an important role in the efficient and equitable functioning of labour markets by matching available jobs with suitably qualified workers. However, concerns have been raised about the growing role of unscrupulous employment agencies, informal labour intermediaries and other operators, whom are acting outside the legal and regulatory framework, and especially prey on low-skilled workers. And about the risk that their actions may result in workers being tricked and trapped into modern slavery and forced labour.

If you want to learn more about what you can do to reduce the risk of abusive and fraudulent recruitment of workers in the supply chain join the ITCILO’s course on Establishing Fair Recruitment Processes.

Through this course you will expand your understanding of the issues, find out about the latest innovative practices and network with a large pool of international experts.

This inter-regional course is a joint initiative of the ITCILO and the ILO in the framework of the global Fair Recruitment Initiative launched in 2014. It will be held from 24 to 28 April 2017 on our campus in Turin, Italy and will be offered in English. 3265
